雨下駄ゲット Rain Geta

昨日天気がよかったので、初めて花輪の商店街を歩いてみました。関善という江戸時代のお酒やさん（古跡）の前まで写真を撮ったら、振り向いて、道路の向かい側、履物屋さんがあった。入ってみたらおばさんたちが防寒ぞうりとかのことを店の奥さんに聞いていました。機会を借りて私は雨の日の下駄について聞いたら、結局作ってもらっちゃいました。台は普通の芳町、鼻緒はビニールっぽい（雨対策）、シック（地味）な白地に細い黒い縞（爪皮あわせやすいように）、下駄の歯に滑りとめのゴムを付けてもらった。台と鼻緒から選ぶのは初めての体験で、お店の人と楽しい会話のできてとても満足でした。
　爪皮は去年大阪の船場のgofukukuyasan.comの本店を訪ねた時買ったもの。でも、ずっと二つ歯の下駄がなかったので使えなかった。これから、春になるし、いっぱい活躍できそう。
　It became a beautiful sunny day yesterday so I went for a walk down the main street of Hanawa... and discovered a little old "hakimono" store at the end of the street and ended up getting rain geta made. Well I picked vinyl-like straps and got rubber no-slip pads attached to the "teeth" of the geta. It was really fun picking the stuff and watching the lady put it all together, beginning with drilling holes through the wooden base with a cone shaped metal file.
The toe-covers I got last fall when I visited the gofukuyasan.com store in Osaka but I had had no suitable geta to wear them with before.
