Yasujiro Ozu's "An Autumn Afternoon" (1962) is a Japanese version of "Father of the Bride." Not that they are in any way alike...If you love kimono you will love this movie. I shows a wealth of kimono from wedding uchikake to yukata pajamas. And you see how a young unmarried woman wears her kimono compared to a young wife compared to an older resturant /isakaya owner etc. The actresses are classy and beautiful and look charmingly natural and at ease in kimono. If you don't love kimono, it's still a classic about family and an interesting commentary on postwar Japan.
今日は日本最古の芝居小屋.康楽館の映画懐イベントで「秋刀魚の味」を見ました。映画の中にいろんなきものが登場します。普段の紬はもちろん花嫁衣裳やパ ジャマ役のゆかたまでも。女優さんたちの着付けはきちんとしていたがとても自然でした。（今の「美しいキモノ」などの着付けはとても不自然に見えると思い ます。補正しすぎて、きものが体に馴染んでいないじゃない。きものが硬くて、苦しくて、着付けが難しいなどの悪い印象を与えてます。秋刀魚の味に胸が大き い人もきれいにきものを着てました。）私もあんなにきれいな歩き方ができたらいいなぁ～
