ザ・マワシ The Mawashi

The mawashi, most often seen on sumo rikishi, is the traditional Japanese version of the jock-strap.

Look at these lucky gents. How many JET program participants do you think are lucky enough to learn how to put on a mawashi?
Today was the 2nd Annual Gaijin Sumo Tournament held by Everest of Apples and sponsored by the Akita Sumo Federation. There was a little too much man-butt for me.

Finally, here's me with this year's yokozuna.

I decided that since sumo is Japan's national sport, I would wear the national dress. ^_^
