New Summer Kimono Reprise

This obi works better huh (but that other day I was just being lazy so I picked the hanhaba). However, it is a pain in the ass to tie cuz it always comes out too long for some weird reason. It doesn't look longer when it's folded up... It's a mystery. I wore this to do my speech to Towada Rotary Club last Thursday.

Tomorrow I am speaking to 150+ 高齢者(senior citizens) and contemplating wearing a kimono there too to impress the grannies. Actually, grannies are the hardest to impress with kimonos. They are picky and will point our your mistakes and that the kimono you picked it too 地味or 粋 or old for you. Young people should wear pink and red and big flowers, blah, blah, blah... One of the things I'm looking forward to is wearing kimono however I want in the States!

Friday evening I held a yukata dressing class in my apt for nearby JETs. Then on Saturday we did some serious yukata shopping! Yay! Yukata season is arriving in a couple weeks! ... better get back to sewing! (Actually, first I have to finish writing that speech for seniors ...)
