Yukata Project 4:

Finally finished sewing up the loose ends in the body of the yukata so tonight I went to get help with attaching the collar. With moral support from Sawata-san I managed to attach the cloth that will become a collar in 4 hours. The collar is probably the hardest part! The intructions are pretty vague too. I guess you just need experience to determine how much you should curve it.
After the collar is an over collar (ともえり), then all I have to do is attach the sleeves!
I have only 2 weeks left until Kosui Matsuri!
BTW, in one of the instruction books it says, "Experienced kimono tailors say 'yukata in one night', if you have the motivation and set concrete goals you can complete your yukata in 3 days..." Yeah, right!!! Only if you don't sleep and have a De Lorean!
